Abstrak

The development of social media and digital platforms has transformed the ways adolescents acquire and make sense of religious information, generating educational opportunities while simultaneously exposing them to risks of misinformation, Islamic-related hoaxes, and extremist narratives that may foster digital radicalism. This article aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in countering digital radicalism among youth communities through a review of contemporary literature linking issues of digital literacy, religious moderation, and the pedagogical transformation of PAI. This study employs a library research method by examining academic sources relevant to education, digital literacy, social media, and the prevention of radicalism among adolescents. The findings indicate that digital radicalism is not merely an ideological problem, but also an issue related to the ecosystem of information and literacy, thereby requiring preventive strategies through educational pathways. The strategic role of PAI is reflected in three key domains, namely strengthening digital religious literacy to filter information, internalizing religious moderation and character education as ideological immunity, and transforming curriculum and technology-based pedagogy to align with contemporary patterns of information consumption among adolescents. The article further highlights that the effectiveness of PAI in the digital context increases when youth communities are involved as social units that mediate content exchange and the formation of religious identity. Thus, PAI is positioned as a preventive and relevant strategy for fostering informational and ideological resilience among adolescents in the post-truth era.
