Abstrak

This study explores the effectiveness of the Problem Solving learning method in improving students’ learning outcomes in Fiqh subject at MTs Ma’arif Pinrang. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach using interviews, observation, and documentation as data collection techniques. The Problem Solving method was implemented through several stages, including problem identification, data exploration, discussion, and solution evaluation. The findings indicate that the use of this method positively impacts students’ cognitive, affective, and psychomotor competencies. Students demonstrated increased motivation, active participation, and deeper understanding of Fiqh concepts, especially in topics that require reasoning and analysis. The learning process also encouraged collaboration and communication during group discussions. Furthermore, students’ assessment results showed improvement after applying the method compared to previous conventional lecture-based learning. Thus, the Problem Solving method is considered effective in enhancing learning outcomes and supporting meaningful learning in Islamic education.
