Transformasi Makna Huruf al-Nida dalam Dinamika Balaghah Arab

Abstract

This study examines the use of uslūb yā’ al-nidā’ in the Qur’an, focusing on Surah al-Baqarah, Ali ‘Imrān, and al-Nisā’. The research aims to identify the verses containing this stylistic form and to analyze its contextual meanings within the perspective of Arabic rhetoric. This study employs a qualitative approach with library research, using textual analysis of Qur’anic verses supported by classical and contemporary references. The data were collected through reading, identifying, and classifying relevant verses, and analyzed using a balāghah approach to uncover rhetorical meanings. The findings reveal that the use of yā’ al-nidā’ is not limited to literal calling, but extends to various rhetorical meanings such as encouragement, warning, reminding, and expression of amazement. These meanings are context-dependent and reflect the communicative and persuasive nature of Qur’anic discourse, particularly in Madaniyah surahs that emphasize legal and ethical guidance. The study also shows that the frequency of uslūb al-nidā’ indicates a systematic rhetorical strategy in conveying divine messages. Theoretically, this research reinforces classical balāghah concepts while integrating them with modern linguistic approaches, particularly stylistics and pragmatics. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of Qur’anic language and offer implications for the development of Arabic language studies, Qur’anic interpretation, and rhetoric-based learning.
