IMPLEMENTASI METODE DRILL SEBAGAI UPAYA PENINGKATAN MINAT BELAJAR PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DAN BUDI PEKERTI DI SMPIT AL IKHLAS PINRANG

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the drill method as an effort to increase students’ learning interest in Islamic Religious Education and Character (PAIBP) at SMPIT Al Ikhlas Pinrang. Conducted through a classroom action research (CAR) approach, the study involved two cycles consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through observation, interviews, field notes, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively to determine changes in students’ learning interest before and after the application of the drill method. The findings indicate that the drill method effectively increases students’ enthusiasm, participation, concentration, and willingness to complete learning tasks, both individually and in groups. Students demonstrated greater engagement during repetitive practice activities, more active responses during lessons, and improved consistency in completing exercises. The improvement in learning interest across the cycles shows that the drill method can serve as an effective instructional strategy in PAIBP learning, particularly in reinforcing understanding, strengthening memory, and building student confidence. Based on these results, the drill method is recommended as an alternative technique for teachers to enhance students’ interest and active participation in Islamic Religious Education and Character lessons.
