Abstract

This study aims to analyze the urgency of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) in shaping the moral character of early childhood at TK Negeri Pembina Lanrisang. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving school principals, teachers, and parents. The findings indicate that Islamic Religious Education plays a central and strategic role in developing children’s moral behavior. The implementation of IRE is carried out systematically and continuously through activities such as introducing basic Islamic beliefs, practicing worship, daily prayers, reciting short Qur’anic surahs, and cultivating Islamic manners. Teachers serve multiple roles as educators, facilitators, motivators, and evaluators, significantly influencing the moral formation of students. The study also reveals that parents perceive Islamic-based learning as an essential foundation for shaping children into morally upright individuals. Overall, IRE contributes positively to strengthening children’s moral development and fostering akhlakul karimah from an early age.
