Abstract

The background of this research is that multicultural-based education is considered essential in responding to existing differences. The diversity of schools of thought (madhhab) in fiqh and issues of khilafiyah (jurisprudential disagreement) often become subjects of internal debate among Muslims, which sometimes lead to division. Therefore, education plays an important role in transmitting multicultural values to guide students toward appreciating diversity.This study aims to (1) identify the dimensions of multicultural values found in Fiqh learning at MTs DDI Kaballangan, Pinrang Regency; (2) examine the implementation of multicultural values in the comparison of schools of thought within Fiqh learning at MTs DDI Kaballangan, Pinrang Regency; and (3) analyze the implications of the implementation of multicultural values in Fiqh learning for students at MTs DDI Kaballangan, Pinrang Regency. This research employs a qualitative approach. The data sources consist of both primary and secondary data, collected through observation, documentation, and interviews. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that (1) the dimensions of multicultural values in Fiqh learning at MTs DDI Kaballangan include curriculum and teaching material dimensions, which consist of the values of tolerance, equality, brotherhood, justice, and ethics in social interaction; (2) the implementation of multicultural values in the comparison of schools of thought in Fiqh learning emphasizes tolerance, non-fanaticism, inclusiveness, non-discrimination, understanding the background of differences, ethics in addressing differences, and the promotion of peace and unity; and (3) the implications of multicultural values in Fiqh learning at MTs DDI Kaballangan cover three domains: (1) affective (attitudinal), (2) cognitive (knowledge), and (3) learning behavior.
