Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the Team Quiz learning strategy in increasing students’ learning motivation in the Akidah Akhlak subject at MTs Tarbiyah Al-Azhar Tiroang. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach to explore how the strategy is implemented, the supporting factors, and the resulting impact on students’ learning engagement. Data were collected through interviews, classroom observations, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings show that the Team Quiz strategy encourages active participation, collaboration, and competitive learning behavior among students. It also creates a more engaging classroom atmosphere, reduces boredom, and increases students’ confidence in expressing ideas. Furthermore, the strategy positively influences intrinsic and extrinsic motivation by making learning more interactive and enjoyable. In conclusion, the implementation of the Team Quiz strategy contributes significantly to improving learning motivation in the Akidah Akhlak classroom context.
